Krugersdorp Game Reserve

We went to Krugersdorp game reserve a while back.  It is a small game reserve, only about 40 minutes from Joburg.  We wandered around and for the first 40 minutes saw only a little deer family...  Sister Pead's comment about whether or not you see animals being a "crap shoot" entering my mind a few times.  We spotted the hind quarters of a lion well hidden in the foliage and followed it as far as the road took us.  We circled back and told our friends in the other car about it so they wanted to go see if they could get a glimpse.  We pulled over to the side of the road to wait for them.  Within 5 minutes a bakkie (pickup truck) drove slowly past us and told us...Follow us...we're going to feed the lions.  This was Monday and we knew they fed the lions on Sunday...but there was a safari vehicle full of guests (who we guessed had paid for the extra feeding) behind the bakkie so we turned ourselves around and phoned our friends to go back up to the feeding spot.  The fellow in the bakkie pounded on the side of the truck and hollered out of the window calling for the lions.  Within 5 minutes this is what we saw:

They just started walking out of the tall grass....and they just kept coming.

The "sisters" came first and went for the food, because when HE came, they had to scoot until he was done.

And SHE'S not happy about it!

Waiting for their turn.

She's dang tired of waiting.

He was so beautiful...and came up close.  It was awesome!

So handsome!  He looks like he just came from the beauty salon.

Here are other animals we saw as we left the park...but the lions were the highlight!

The variety of horns is crazy!

This is called "The African View"....they always seems to turn their backs on you.  But(t) I loved this TARGET!

This is a guinea fowl.  I love the color and the polka dots!

And then this animal that we have never seen here before!!!!!

He actually looks a little hungry!
