Spring!

Spring in Johannesburg means jacaranda trees....so I'm posting a few pictures to give you an idea of the new world of purple in which we dwell.  There are lots of pictures...but they don't do justice to the beauty of the reality.  The jacarandas do not disappoint!

This is the view from our flat....if you open the window and lean out and look to the left!

The yellow building on the right is a wing of our building, Duke's Court.  The big red brick building on the left is the view outside our flat...we watched "Rear Window" with our friends the Barnett's a couple of weeks ago because that is what the view reminds us of!

And the inevitable carpet of petals every day.  Actually, very pretty...but then I didn't have to clean it up!

These pictures were all taken in October/November of 2017.  I'd like to tell you I'm posting them to welcome your spring....but we all know, I'm just 5 months behind!  Happy Spring to you!  Nights are getting cooler...we are welcoming autumn!
